Pet Parents! Who should you appreciate this Thanks Giving?

In today’s world raising a dog alone is not easy. It is just like raising a kid, you will need all the help that you can get. Most of the time we take all the help that we receive for granted. It may sound like just grooming and walking but do you know how difficult would that be?

Well, maybe not until you have done it. How thankful are we for having all these people who help us raise a pet healthy and comfortable?

Thanksgiving is one event where we can show our gratitude for all these angels who are a blessing in disguise. Here are the 6 people we should appreciate this Thanksgiving as responsible pet parents.

Dog Groomers

All those who have a dog will know how important grooming a dog is. Combing and brushing the coat of your dog when he/she is a puppy sets the texture of your dog’s coat. Dogs have different textures just like human beings. Short-haired dogs will need to be groomed every week. And, this is not as easy as you think. They first need to be brushed in the wrong direction and then on the right side. If your dog has a long coat, it might get twisted forming hair tangles, which will get rough and attract dust over time. Untangling these might end up being a painful task, both for the dog and the groomer. The groomer should analyze the length and shorten the hair in some places and leave it long in some.

Trimming nails is essential and the most challenging part of grooming. Have you ever watched a dog get his nails cut? Most of them throw the maximum tantrums when they have to get their nails trimmed. Long nails can curl when left uncut and cause paw problems. When it comes to trimming nails, the groomer would always need an extra pair of hands.

Dog Walkers

Dog walkers are people who visit your house and take your dog out for their daily dose of exercise when you are too busy to walk your dog. Not to blame you, but these are the people who make work easy for you and relieve you from the guilt of being busy to walk your dog.

Dog Hostels

Dog hostels are places where you can leave your dog when you need to go out. These are more like creches for children. They take care of your dog when you are either going out for a short time or days together. Imagine how challenging it is to take care of one dog. Now imagine taking care of multiple dogs together. Making sure that they are happy, walked and fed. Most of these hostels have a caretaker appointed for each dog who interact with these dogs and cater to their needs immediately. This gives you peace of mind while travelling. You no longer have to think if you have switched off the gas or if you have kept a harmful object out of reach from your dog.

Dog Sitters

Dogs like children get sad when left alone. Some dogs would not like to stay in a hostel. They would have got used to the environment they live in and would find it tough when taken to a hostel. There are instances where a dog gets into a depression because he/she is left in an environment that they do not like. In such cases, dog sitters are the ones who help us. They come and stay with your dog just like how a nanny would. They cater to all the needs of your dog which includes feeding your dog, taking him for a walk and in case you have a dog that needs to be exercised then ensuring that it is done as well.

Veterinarians

It is hard to console a pet parent with a sick child. The dog is most cases would not understand anything. It is the parent who is under constant stress and needs convincing and consoling. As a vet, his responsibilities have not ended in just treating your dog. It revolves around understanding your dog, treating him, telling you how to take care of him, and convincing you to make decisions that would be good for him. Imagine what it would be for the Vet when he/she has to do this for every parent who visits them.

Dog Trainers

Most of us have the perception that people train dogs only when it comes to dog shows. No, trainers are involved in different stages. And, no, training is not just about getting your dog to do things by luring him into getting a treat. They need to understand your dog first and how he responds to different commands. It is not as easy as it may appear in the YouTube videos that you see. In case you have a dog that needs to be exercised in a particular fashion, dog trainers will have to look up at what can be done and device plans to train your dog accordingly.

Tech Vendors

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become an integral part of our life. We almost always use robots for everything, even when it comes to taking care of our pets, right from monitoring them over a camera, to adding sensors to track their movement, heartbeat, exercise, etc. There are numerous companies out there who work tirelessly to deliver the best in class service such that you and your pet stay close to each other.

This is a list of people that you need to feel thankful for if you have a dog. Yes, you pay them for their service. However, certain things are more than just money. It involves a substantial amount of effort and passion to do what they do. So, this thanksgiving the least that you can do is to refer them to your family and friends or send them a thank-you card. We have one designed for you. You can print them and send them as a token of your appreciation.

Last but not least, we’d like to thank you too. You have allowed us to take care of your pet.
Whenever we read about a pet dying of heatstroke or frostbite, our hearts get broken. Waggle wireless was built to overcome this. A simple pet monitor can save your companions’ life and we are thankful that you are using our service to save your pet.

Thank you for letting us play such a pivotal role in your dog’s life. For this, we will be forever grateful.
